Truck-mounted hot water extraction

Carpet Cleaning

Deep steam cleaning that removes dirt, allergens, and stains for fresher, healthier carpets. Truck-mounted hot water extraction, deodorizing and grooming.

Why the traffic lane goes dull before the rest of the room

Carpet rarely wears out evenly. The path from the front door to the kitchen, the spot in front of the couch and the corner where the dog sleeps all collect grit that the vacuum only skims. Grit rides down into the pile, and every step grinds it against the fibers. The lane turns grey and flat while the carpet under the dining table still looks new.

Pet spots and spills go wrong in a different way. The stain you can see is the small part. The liquid sinks into the backing and the pad, and that is where the odor comes from. A surface wipe lifts the color and leaves the smell behind, so it comes back on the first humid day.

Regular vacuuming matters, but it cannot pull out what has worked its way down into the base of the pile. That is the gap a truck-mounted machine closes.

How an M&J carpet visit runs, from inspection to walk-through

Every visit starts with a pre-inspection and spot treatment. We look at the condition of the carpet, find the problem areas and treat the spots and high-traffic lanes before any water goes down, so the cleaning solution has time to loosen what is stuck.

Then comes hot water extraction, often called steam cleaning. Our truck-mounted equipment drives hot water into the pile and pulls it straight back out, carrying the loosened dirt with it. Because the machine sits on the truck, the heat and suction stay strong from the first room to the last, and as much moisture as possible leaves with the dirt.

A deodorizing treatment follows, aimed at the source of the smell rather than masking it. Then we groom the carpet so the pile lies even and dries faster. Before we pack up, we do a post-cleaning walk-through with you, room by room, so any spot you are not happy with gets another look while we are still there. One reviewer put it simply: "Nice job cleaning our home carpets (shout out to Mason!). Professional and thorough." (Nate Perkins)

Drying, aftercare and how often to schedule the next one

Expect the carpet to be lightly damp when we leave. You can walk on it, no shoes, and a few fans pointed at the floor speed things up. Drying time depends on the weather, the nap of the carpet and its condition, and it should not take more than 24 hours. If we moved furniture or set blocks under the legs, leave them in place until the carpet is completely dry so wooden legs do not leave a permanent stain.

Most homes take 1-3 hours, depending on the size and condition of the carpets. To get the most from that time, vacuum if you can, move small items and breakables, and clear a path to the areas being cleaned. We clean around electronics, hutches, bookcases, desks, TVs and pianos, and we go around anything really heavy.

For most households, every 12-18 months keeps carpet in good shape. Homes with pets, children or heavy traffic do better on a 6-12 month rhythm. The cleaning solutions we use are eco-friendly and non-toxic, and once the carpet is dry it is completely safe to walk on.
